Balham Circle’s President’s Sunday was held on July 10, vying for importance in the social calendar only with some tennis match or other at Wimbledon.
The day began with sung mass at Holy Ghost church in Balham – the Circle’s ‘Mother’ church.
All lay offices for the mass were filled by Brothers or their wives. Afterwards, Brothers, wives and some youngsters repaired to the South London Bowls Club for an excellent buffet lunch, augmented by a free bar. Everyone enjoyed a most convivial time with lots of banter over the drinks and food. The President, Steve Palmer, and his wife, Jane, were delighted by the high level of support on the day, which made for a great and memorable occasion.
