Not everyone stayed the course long enough to be in this photo. We had lost Brothers Richard Mills & Pyatt before we started taking the pictures, but others steadfastly soldiered on! CAMRA staged yet another overwhelming beer-fest at Olympia and the Balham contingent dutifully attended on August 12. Cornish pasties supplemented the diet of multitudinous different Ales from all over the UK with names you wouldn’t dream of. They mostly tasted great too. You will note Brother Noel’s unusual drinking vessel, which seems to double as a disguise. One can only assume that all made it home without disasters!
Sorry to be pedantic but the caption should read ‘here ARE’ the Balham brothers. It looks like a splendid day but a lot of exeat vouchers must have been used up!
Though grammatically incorrect, Charles, I believe the ‘turn of phrase’ is colloquially often used.
