Balham Circle Ladies Night was a well attended event and, in addition to Balham brothers and their wives, the Circle warmly welcomed Grand President, Peter Woodford and his wife Ann, Provincial President Kevin Rourke and his wife Jacqui and Provincial Director, David Arundale and his wife Maureen. The full complement of guests was completed by Fr Davis from St Thomas Beckett Church.
The circle meeting was held in our usual room and was followed by dinner in the Windmill restaurant. There was quite a buzz, both in the bar and in the restaurant, suggesting that all were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
A raffle was held in aid of the Presidents Charity, ‘Smile Train’, and raised a total of £240, which was much appreciated by the charity. Smile Train repairs children’s cleft palets in many countries where families would not otherwise be able to afford the operation.
After dinner Brother Terry lead the Balham & visiting Brothers in a toast to the Ladies and Peter Woodford thanked Balham brothers for their hospitality.
