January 28 sees the pilgrims off again!

We have missed some of the Balham pilgrimage stages (have no fear we will return to them!), but we can report that, on Saturday January 28, Balham President, Steve Palmer, supported by six other pilgrims and two dogs, continued his steady progress along the Pilgrims route to Canterbury.   Continue reading

The President’s Pilgrimage to Canterbury completed its fourth stage on 3 September when the pilgrims reached Oxted. Over forty miles have been completed with a further 70 to go.   Continue reading

Last “Join Me” of Terry’s presidency is a visit to Broadcasting House

IMG_1751A happy band of Balham and Croydon Brothers and Wives enjoyed an entertaining visit to the BBC Headquarters in Portland Place on Friday Aril 1. Certainly not April fools, we were lucky enough to catch one of the last tours for the time being and we were given an interesting insight into “Aunty’s” culture and workings.

Birthday surprise adds sparkle to Clergy Night

Balham Circle hosted a very successful Clergy and Ladies’ night on 2nd February. A good number of local clergy attended representing some of the major parishes in the Balham Circle’s catchment.
