We have missed some of the Balham pilgrimage stages (have no fear we will return to them!), but we can report that, on Saturday January 28, Balham President, Steve Palmer, supported by six other pilgrims and two dogs, continued his steady progress along the Pilgrims route to Canterbury. On August 10 the Balham annual visit to the Great British Beer Festival staged by CAMRA at Olympia proved as enjoyable as ever and Balham Brothers where jointed by beer enthusiasts from Croydon and Osterley circles.

Balham Circle’s President’s Sunday was held on July 10, vying for importance in the social calendar only with some tennis match or other at Wimbledon.
The day began with sung mass at Holy Ghost church in Balham – the Circle’s ‘Mother’ church.

A happy band of Balham and Croydon Brothers and Wives enjoyed an entertaining visit to the BBC Headquarters in Portland Place on Friday Aril 1. Certainly not April fools, we were lucky enough to catch one of the last tours for the time being and we were given an interesting insight into “Aunty’s” culture and workings.
